No new and original New Year’s resolution this year.
Every year, I resolve to try and keep the one resolution I’ve been successful keeping.
It’s the New Year’s resolution I originally made one year in the mid nineties: Cut other people some slack. I went about conscientiously cutting people slack and that one stuck for a year. I renew it every year because it’s one thing that goes against my nature that I can actually achieve.
Clearly I need to polish up on the slack-giving this year.

Sweetheart, you don’t cut slack so much as make up psychological reasons why your friends do what they do.I will say, you’re wonderfully accepting of me and all of your other strange friends, and we love you too.
