Weekend Update

See, the thing about a blog is that it encourages you to have a life. And at times, say, on days when you don’t have a life, all you have is a sick day including sleeping until 3 pm, then there is not much to blog. Unless you would want to hear how that SaveDarfur commercial on CNN is so overplayed now that I’m getting annoyed.

Oh, and how I just want to sometimes hold Lou Dobbs and tell him everything will be okay, illegal immigrants can be our friends. Lou gets SO upset, people!

But, in lieu of activities, I can give you an update on past activities.

Pics of Robin’s Divorcee Soiree are up on Robin’s blog. Robin did not use the special photography technique I have cultivated: culling through 500 photos and finding the one that makes me look thin.

I think I might be getting my brother Dave one of these two things: either a Slingbox or a GPS system. The GPS system would get him out of the house more, I think.

I played Blondie the electric guitar after months of playing Alvarez the acoustic and I nailed every chord. I can flip to a barre chord in less time than it takes to say, “Crap, another barre chord.” I can hammer on and pull off.

It will soon be down to Eight Movies I’ve Never Seen: The TiVO is set to look for Chinatown and has already found This is Spinal Tap on Sunday.

Tea will be held in the Spring. Unfortunately, I do have two years worth of Christmas ornaments I was to give out as favors at the tea. Not sure what to do with fifty teapot-shaped ornaments.

After I stopped taking the prescription medication that was supposed to loosen my diaphragm and help me cough, various other internal muscles stopped relaxing and went back to doing their jobs. I know Libby and Marcia were IMing their suspicions to each other at our office every time I coughed.

We still haven’t visited The Monkey Bar. Something to live for.

  1. Ellen dear, I get a teapot ornament every year, no? Do you happen to recall my faith? Shall I have the Teutonic Titwillow remind you?My teapot ornaments have never hung from a tree, but they do adorn the window in my kitchen.I. Want. My. Teapot.I’m looking forward to a Spring Tea. 🙂

  2. And re: saveDarfur.org, the gory details are apart from shooting men, women and children, they raped woman and young girls, bound them, stuffed gasoline soaked rags in their mouths and set them on fire.Probably too graphic for the general viewing audience. I suppose they hope the watered down version will still generate donations. They got me, that’s for sure!

  3. Well, I haven’t checked out savedarfur.org, but I did see that OK! magazine endorsed Teutonic Titwillow’s camel site. (Yes I looked at OK! I was at my ILs’ house and sick as a dog. It was that or act happy to be there.)

Comment, even if you aren't on WordPress. Make up a name. Fine by me.
