Clothing Revolution part three

Did you know there’s this place called Dress Barn? I’d never been
there before! And given I will grow out of all THESE clothes in a year
they were a good value.

I laid out all the clothes so deceptively that I had to be honest with
the giant blue granny panties.photo.jpg

  1. Walking past a strip-mall Dress Barn one day, I wondered aloud how that name made it past the focus group. Then The Fella and I started tossing back and forth other, even less glamorous names they could have chosen.
I don’t remember now what the other names were, but I do remember that The Fella won: that store is now known to us as Dress Barge.

  2. Elsa – it might be shorter now: on the online page it seems to be “dressbarn.” All one word, very 2010.

  3. I get all my everyday drab clothes for Seattle at Value Village, or Walue Willage, as we like to call it. Value here means “cheap and used” not, as you may have thought, valuable.

  4. Becs – I get my shoes from the dead off eBay sometimes.Hattie – We have a Value Furniture out here. I hear what you’re saying.

  5. Here we have a separate store for Dress Barn Woman. Because the fat women do not fit in the Barn they already have.
I am too fat for Dress Barn Woman clothes. Now I am depressed.

  6. Tami – Oh, these are DBwoman clothes. I wondered if the Dress Barn Girls cried when they had to make the crossing to the “Woman” side of the store. There should be some type of ceremony. Like ‘Fat Mitzvah.’ Now you are a woman. Soon I will follow you out of Dress Barn o the next store they build for you and I.

Comment, even if you aren't on WordPress. Make up a name. Fine by me.
